After being freed by their captors, broadcast journalist Cecilia Victoria “Ces” Oreña-Drilon on Wednesday admitted that “betrayal” led to their abduction by the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu.
In a press conference at a resort in Zamboanga City which was aired by radio dzBB, Drilon said: “There was some betrayal involved kaya kami nakidnap (that’s why we were kidnapped).”
Drilon, however, did not give details on her claim, nor did she identify who betrayed them.
In a report, dzBB’s Denver Trinidad quoted Drilon as saying they were treated well by their captors throughout their captivity, but “in a perverse kind of way.”
“We were treated well, in a perverse kind of way,” Drilon said.
now that the drama is over sana malaman natin kung ano yung betrayal at perverse na sinasabi. magkano kya ang naging kabayaran ng kanilang paglaya? - piyesta na naman ang mga abu sayaf nyan, free publicity na may bayad pa!
“Mayor, I want to get out of here,” Indanan Mayor Alvarez Isnaji quoted the 46-year-old Drilon as telling him. The ABS-CBN broadcast journalist is being held in a forested area on Jolo island, together with cameraman Jimmy Encarnacion and Mindanao State University Prof. Octavio Dinampo.
Isnaji said he talked to Drilon, whom he described as being “tearful” in an interview with The Associated Press. He said Drilon had told him she wanted to get out of the kidnappers’ lair, according to AP.

Ces Drilon and her two-member news crew were abducted last Saturday, June 7 by the Abu Sayyaf. the kidnapping is all over the media since last week - READ.
i don’t mean to be callous be who is too blame for this latest snafu?
think about it - the abu sayyaf, first time they came to the limelight was during the sipadan kidnapping, after that their claim to be part of al queda. they were even made the excuse para makabalik sa pinas ang mga kano - the cavalry rode in to help the afp in its first against the arm of al queda in the philippines.
years later they’re still very active and up to their old tricks - nataon naman na a high profile reporter is ready for the taking kaya ayun! - andito na naman ang pinas sa sitwasyong ito.
not negotiating - what a load of crap! everyone negotiates, patago nga lang and why is it that when a none media person is kidnapped, the media is all over it despite the pleas from the victim’s family not to report it? But when its one of their own who’s kidnapped they have a news blackout?
so back to my question - WHO IS TO BLAME?
